SECTION I: Job Summary

The Civil Surveyor is responsible for performing land and construction surveys to establish and verify site levels, alignments, and dimensions, supporting accurate setting-out and progress verification for civil and construction works.

SECTION II: Job Analysis

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform site surveys for setting-out of civil works (excavation, foundations, structures, pipelines, roads).
  • Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference grids.
  • Verify as-built dimensions, levels, and alignments against approved drawings.
  • Operate survey equipment (total station, GPS/GNSS, levels) and maintain calibration records.
  • Prepare survey reports, as-built drawings, and quantity survey data as required.
  • Support QC with dimensional verification for civil, structural, and piping works.
  • Coordinate with construction supervision on setting-out requirements and schedules.
  • Maintain survey records, field books, and data files.
  • Support topographic and boundary surveys as required.
  • Identify and report survey discrepancies to the Superintendent/Engineering team.
  • Support progress measurement through survey-based quantity verification.

Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience as a surveyor on construction/industrial projects.

Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
